SPECIALTY WORKSTATIONS

Since our inception, OP/Station developed hardware integrated solutions for specific industries and applications. These custom solutions have enabled clients in several industries to utilize computer workstations in environments that would typically be hazardous to the hardware or software. Examples of specialty workstation’s we have developed and the results received include:

Industry: Pharma Application: Bulk Chemical Pilot Plant - HMI/SCADA Interface Description: Mobile Workstation in Hazardous AreaOP/Station Product: microOP/PC Case Study: One of the more unique challenges that OP/Station was faced with was at a major pharmaceutical company building a new pilot manufacturing facility. The facility contained multiple production areas, all considered hazardous areas - rated as Class 1, Division 1. The need for the operator workstations to be mobile created an interesting manufacturing challenge. OP/Station added features such as fiber optic networking and a pedestal-mounted X-Purge to our standard microOP/PC design to create a mobile purged solution.

Industry: Pharma Application: Batch management/HMI Description: Stationary workstation with UPS mounted in pedestal OP/Station Product: microOP/PC Case Study: A recent challenge to OP/Station – “I have limited floor space. I really like your microOP/PC, because it allows me to put my Dell computer on a shelf right in the unit with the 19” LCD. Now I realize that I also need a UPS so that I can orchestrate an orderly shutdown if power is lost. Where can I put it?” Yes the microOP/PC – UPS Pedestal (how’s that for a clever model number), includes a swing out shelf that will accommodate a UPS to provide back up power for your PC. Power and communication cabling from the UPS to the PC run up through the pedestal into the microOP. With the UPS door closed – NEMA 4 protection is maintained.

Industry: Biotech Application: Bioprocess Manufacturing Description: Controls on subpanel in bottom of unit, microOP form factor on top Product: microOP/PC with large base Case Study: A major pharmaceutical manufacturer came to OP/Station with a challenge in their bioprocess manufacturing facility. With limited space and a need for portability, how can we fit the entire control system into one mobile unit.In the bottom, two subpanels, with plenty of room to mount PLCs, I/O, drives, and other control devices. On the outside connectors and cabling to make it easy to connect to the field devices.

Industry: Biotech Application: Bioreactor Control Description: Flexible bioreactor control system for benchtop cell culture and fermentation. Controls and monitors critical variables such as Gas Flow, PH, DO, Temperature and agitiation.
